Superhootie

  • Genre: Electro-house
  • Time: 6:40
  • Tempo: 127 BPM

My newest track, and the first I’ve actually finished in a fair amount of time.  This track is very special to me.  Not just because it’s a fun track and I am happy with how it sounds.

The song, Superhootie is named after the real Superhootie, my friend Hilary.  I met Hilary from Twitter last year.  Since then, she and I have become good friends.

A quick story about Hilary:

When I got my Pulmonary Embolism last fall, I was rushed by ambulance to one of the primary hospitals here in Boise.  After spending time in the Emergency Room, I was sent up to ICU for the first day of my recovery.  I was sitting in the ICU for a short time and in comes the CNA assigned to my room, Hilary.  We were both surprised to see each other and we talked for a bit before she had to go see to her other patients.

It may not seem like much.  After all, she was simply doing her job.  In fact, she asked me if I wanted to request to have another CNA assigned.  (After all, certain aspects of her job could result in awkward situation if they came up.)  However, I felt a considerable amount of relief to know she was there that day.  That was really the first time I’ve ever been taken to the hospital for anything that serious, and I was scared as hell.

I don’t know if Hilary even knows how much it means to me that she was just there for me that day.  This is the reason that I wrote her theme song.  It is a small token of my appreciation of her for being a good friend.

Hilary’s bio on Twitter reads:

“Full-time RN student, full-time CNA at a hospital, & my own private rock star!”

To me, Hilary is more than a rock star.  She is a superstar.  <3 Hilary!

Digeum Mix Sessions: 02 Session Kilo

Digeum Mix Sessions 02 Kilo is posted to digeum.org.

This is a departure from the usual mix sessions, because this one is not House. That’s right, baby. Dubstep in the house!

There are a couple of flubs, but overall, I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Check it out, here.

My health

Last Wednesday, as I was getting ready for work, I started having a problem breathing and started to come close to passing out. After happening the second time, I realized that this was a very serious problem. I called my mom (because you always call your mom when you’re feeling bad) and had her call 911 for me. The EMT’s came to the apartment and after checking me out, rushed me to the Emergency Room.

The verdict:
Pulmonary Embolism. Basically, I got a blood clot in my calf when I took my trip to New York last July. (A lot of sitting without the ability to move my legs.) Some of the clot broke free and travelled into my lungs. I was in the the hospital for 5 days and am on the road to recovery.

Compounding the problem is the fact that I haven’t been taking very good care of myself, especailly my diabetes. So, I am now taking insulin to care for my diabetes.

I now have a General Practitioner that I am seeing and will do what I can to improve my overall health considerably.
