Superhootie

  • Genre: Electro-house
  • Time: 6:40
  • Tempo: 127 BPM

My newest track, and the first I’ve actually finished in a fair amount of time.  This track is very special to me.  Not just because it’s a fun track and I am happy with how it sounds.

The song, Superhootie is named after the real Superhootie, my friend Hilary.  I met Hilary from Twitter last year.  Since then, she and I have become good friends.

A quick story about Hilary:

When I got my Pulmonary Embolism last fall, I was rushed by ambulance to one of the primary hospitals here in Boise.  After spending time in the Emergency Room, I was sent up to ICU for the first day of my recovery.  I was sitting in the ICU for a short time and in comes the CNA assigned to my room, Hilary.  We were both surprised to see each other and we talked for a bit before she had to go see to her other patients.

It may not seem like much.  After all, she was simply doing her job.  In fact, she asked me if I wanted to request to have another CNA assigned.  (After all, certain aspects of her job could result in awkward situation if they came up.)  However, I felt a considerable amount of relief to know she was there that day.  That was really the first time I’ve ever been taken to the hospital for anything that serious, and I was scared as hell.

I don’t know if Hilary even knows how much it means to me that she was just there for me that day.  This is the reason that I wrote her theme song.  It is a small token of my appreciation of her for being a good friend.

Hilary’s bio on Twitter reads:

“Full-time RN student, full-time CNA at a hospital, & my own private rock star!”

To me, Hilary is more than a rock star.  She is a superstar.  <3 Hilary!

Digeum Mix Session 01 Quebec

Digeum Mix session 01 Quebec has been uploaded to digeum.org. This mix is code named “Dirty, Nasty, Filthy.” I completed this mix this evening. It is a collection of tech- and electro-house tracks. It was a blast to record.

New Track: Get Outta This Place

This is another new track that I completed over the last week. This is more of an Electro-House track. I wasn’t sure if I liked this one and thought it needed more work. But I listened last night, and I liked it much more.

I think this one will go on my next Digeum mix.

New Track: Eliza’s Fuji Apple

This is a song I’ve been working on for the last couple of days. I’m really happy with how it has turned out. It’s pretty spacey stuff.

The name was suggested by be secret and exult.

Remix: Jay Def – U’re Gruv! I Has It! (Dometown Funk Mix)

This is a remix of a song I wrote a couple of months ago. I wasn’t happy with the original, so I cleaned it up some and just made some changes. Oh, and this one really is pretty much House. Promise.

I’m very happy about the slap bassline I created with this one.
